This picture was taken at 09:42. Not true when they say my ECS are always late into Wharf. Left of the picture, Ray Oliver does the function test - now retired from the tv fizzy drinks advertising campaigns Apologies for the bluryness on this picture - it's not a mirage - Staff repair the West End Platform at Abergynolwyn Tom with his head out of the window on the evening trip on the Fairbourne Railway. The train was headed out to the Point. It was raining quite heavily at the time

Tuesday 14 August

Sherpa stands on the traverser at Fairbourne. For those that know, the manifold is isolated in this picture! Hard to tell, through all the rain, but you can just about make the Cambrian Coast Steam crossing Barmouth Bridge Mouse with Sherpa at the Point. Just off shot is the first of many Panini's consumed that day

Yeo passes Sherpa at the half-way point. This was Bill's first solo drive, after passing out as Driver. Just to the right of shot, the shovel is neatly located on the tender! Mouse runs round the train on Sherpa at Fairbourne One of the neighbours asks Mouse whether he'll be emptying the bins later that day
